This program offers the opportunity to acquire knowledge in programming languages, architecture, and paradigms for software application development. Subjects cover dynamic web development, data structures, algorithms, and agile coding, with electives for additional depth. The curriculum aligns with current and future needs of software developers, enhancing skills for a final-year project. Graduates may pursue roles involving software process improvements, emphasizing measurable business benefits. Effective communication is vital for reporting on project progress, anomalies, risks, and issues. Graduates can also engage in software release and post-release activities, including product launches and implementation roles such as installation, configuration, programming/customization, integration, and data migration.

The Federation University Co-operative Model integrates education and industry, providing direct connections, paid placements, and career preparation. Co-op addresses skill shortages through collaboration with industry stakeholders. The program ensures graduates are work-ready, with mandatory career development units and transferable World Ready Skills. Co-op involves a minimum of 60 days’ paid placement, contributing to course credits, with flexibility to suit students’ commitments and course requirements. The model is co-designed, co-developed, and co-delivered with industry partners.
