The Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) (Honours) is a four-year program situated in the state-of-the-art $43 million Science and Engineering precinct at our Mt Helen campus in Ballarat, Victoria. Accredited by Engineers Australia, the program covers electric circuits, thermodynamics, industrial robots, machine design, and energy conversion. In the final year, students pursue personalized engineering projects. Graduates, accredited by Engineers Australia, engage in all facets of designing, developing, and managing machines and systems, including mechanical and mechatronic systems, automated systems, robotic devices, heat transfer processes, thermodynamics, combustion systems, and fluid and thermal energy systems. Graduates are highly sought after by various engineering organizations nationally. The Federation University Co-operative Model offers paid placements, career preparation, and skills development, ensuring graduates are work-ready. Co-op students complete a minimum of 60 days’ paid placement relevant to their course, contributing to course credits. This co-designed program involves collaboration with employers, industry, students, and alumni.
